![]() ![]() It really is sad when you think about it. And in New York you can’t afford to live unless you’re very, just really well off. Not that I would ever want to live in downtown Los Angeles, but I don’t think I would be able to afford it if I did. I think monetarily I can’t afford the city, in any sort of way. I just remember her always being like ‘I fell in love with Teaneck because I hadn’t seen that many trees before.’ I’m just like a suburb person so I guess I didn’t know that until I moved to Philly for Temple University, and then I was like ‘oh yeah’ but I kind of fuck with living in a city too. But then you travel and are like ‘oh no, there are places that have like no shrubbery, at all.’ But you know she lived in like a city so everything was just concrete. ![]() And I never thought about a place in that way because I was raised (in Teaneck), and I thought that every place looked like that. ![]() I remember because my mom was born and raised in the lower east side of Manhattan in like the projects, and she just remembers when they decided to move to Teaneck, she was just astonished at actually how many trees there were. ![]() Teaneck is like, it’s kind of reminiscent of this park actually. Once my parents separated we moved to Hackensack, but that was only two hours over… Two hours? Two towns over. D: "New Jersey Teaneck New Jersey, born and raised. ![]()
